How to kick your blahs to the curb

I know we’ve all heard or used the phrase “blah, blah, blah,” and more often than we may admit. I understand this term is specifically related to meaningless or repetitive chatter. However, I am using it to explain how I’ve been feeling these past few weeks, which is “blah, blah, blah!” LOL.
Although I’ve been working, exercising and living my life, I’ve been feeling disconnected and a lack of motivation. I realize that I can’t always be on top of the world, but I don’t like the feeling of just getting through the day.
This past weekend, I was reminded of Psalms 42:11, which is an uplifting scripture encouraging us to put our hope in God during times of inner turmoil, reminding us that despite our current feelings, to praise God as our savior. It was a jolt of inspiration to my soul.
Then yesterday, my outlook began to brighten even more so. My devotional was titled “Every Day is a New Day.” It started out saying that “God wants us to have joy in the midst of our ordinary, everyday life, even on the worst days of our life.” My favorite line is “When you and I take our minds off of ourselves and our circumstances and put our focus on God and loving others, we are embracing an attitude that will bring honor to Him and enable us to view every day as an exciting, new gift from God.” Please check it out, as I hope that it will encourage you as well.
What I’m realizing is that kicking the blahs to the curb isn’t a one-time event and I’m cured, but a consistent and persistent focus on loving God and loving others. It also requires a continual, pushing away of negative, discouraging thoughts and replacing them with positive, uplifting thoughts.
Please check out this dancing baby video (https://www.instagram.com/p/CNRZFG5BEfW/?igsh=OHppZWcxYjI1azdp, as it presents a different perspective of “the blahs.” Similarly to the dancing baby, perhaps we should celebrate the blahs or dance our way through them?
